Too Much Fun?

Last week we celebrated a tradition that I’ve experienced at every school at which I’ve worked – Field Day. We actually held two field days; one was for kindergarten through second grade while the other was for third through fifth grades.

I’ve participated in quite a few Field Days, but I think the way we do it at ASD is by far the best I’ve experienced. Our PE teachers did a fantastic job of designing events that allowed our students to practice the skills they’ve been learning in class. And instead of the day becoming overly competitive, it actually built sportsmanship, teamwork, and school spirit. I continue to be impressed by how thoughtful – and how good – our PE teachers are. They’re solid educators with a passion for what they do.

I had such a great time cheering students on and taking video snippets of the action. When it came time to put them all together, I knew what song would make the perfect backdrop: Too Much Fun by Daryle Singletary. As we all know… [blockquote]Too much fun? There’s no such thing! [/blockquote]
