Restarting and Recommitting

by

Wow. It’s been a year since I last blogged. Where did those months go? And how can I motivate myself to get back into the rhythm of blogging?

Every summer around this time, which is approximately midway point of our break, I start getting the itch. You know, the itch to get back to school. (Or, as I like to call it, my happy place.) I’ve had a few weeks to sleep in, visit with family and friends, and catch up on television shows that I missed during the school year.

I might have been a bit ambitious when planning my summer reading.

Most meaningful for me is the progress I’ve made toward reading the stacks of books positioned strategically around the house. Many of those books are professional titles that I’ve been longing to read for months. They are filled with advice, wisdom, and inspiration. And now I’m ready to act.

So, without further ado, I’m restarting and recommitting to blogging. As I prepare for my fourth year as elementary associate principal at the American School of Dubai, my goal for this blog is to have a place to reflect, share, and archive my journey as an educator. Here I go!
